Sunday Worship: 10:30 a.m. with Sunday School and Nursery Care - followed by Refreshments and Fellowship

In the name of Jesus Christ
we warmly welcome you to our church!

We hope if you are looking for a church home,
you will consider us.
We are a small family sized congregation
with a variety of young, old, couples, and singles.

For 100 years we have been
a strong United Church presence in Swansea.
We are proud of our heritage,
and we look toward our future
with faith and certainty
that, as we grow and change,
we shall continue to play a vital part
in the life and Christian witness
of our community.

Windermere United Church Statement of Solidarity with Our Neighbours in light of the increased reports of hate crime in recent weeks.

Too many of our community have reason to be afraid for their safety including friends of colour, Muslim, Jewish and LGBTQ neighbours. In our own church we are reflecting on the role privilege and complacency play in perpetuating prejudice. Our church is open to all as a place of refuge and conversation about what we must do together to respond to violence, exclusion and racism.

What About Us?

A recent survey asked "what do you look for in a sermon?" and the number one answer was "I want sermons that I can use in my daily life." As prescriptive sermons go, 1st John 3, gives us our assignment "if we want to show love this week, we should lay down our lives for a neighbour in need, just as Jesus laid his life down for us," but what do we do about the other shepherd passages, John 10 and psalm 23 where God is the central actor? Why is it hard for many of us active Christians to embrace the identify of sheep?

John 10:11-18, 1 John 3:16-24, Psalm 23.

Today's sermon references Bishop Willimon's sermon in several places.
